We offer a variety of ways for you to support our work and make a difference for future generations.
A donor-advised fund is a simple, flexible way to support Sahiyo’s mission. If you have a DAF, you can recommend a grant to Sahiyo at any time—whether as a one-time gift or part of your annual giving plan.
Your DAF contribution will help sustain our survivor-centered programs, expand community engagement efforts, and strengthen long-term impact.
To recommend a grant, please use the following information:
Organization Name: Sahiyo U.S., Inc.
EIN: 33-1605655
Address: 45 Prospect Street, Cambridge, MA 02139
If your fund is with Vanguard Charitable, Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, or BNY Mellon, you can recommend a grant through your online portal. Many other providers also allow you to set up recurring DAF grants to support your favorite organizations year-round.
If you have questions about supporting Sahiyo through your donor-advised fund, we’re happy to help—just reach out to grants@sahiyo.org.
Make an impact with workplace giving
Employee giving, matching gifts, workplace fundraisers, federal or state campaigns, and volunteer grants are easy ways to give to Sahiyo through your workplace.
Many employers sponsor matching gift programs to match charitable donations made by their employees. Gifts made by employee’s spouses and retirees may also qualify for a match. Search to find out if your employer has a matching gift program.
Start or participate in an employee giving campaign to support Sahiyo with payroll deduction or one-time gifts. Many workplace giving programs offer automatic payroll deductions to make giving easier.
Plan a workplace fundraiser with your colleagues! Activities can be virtual or hosted in person, and there are plenty of options.
Give through the Combined Federal Campaign (Federal employees) or through your state’s website (State employees).
See if your employer offers a volunteer match program, and have your hours matched by your employer with a donation to Sahiyo.
Thank you for investing in the lasting impact of survivor-led programs.

Specific Bequest. A specific bequest involves making a gift of a specific asset such as real estate, a car, other property or a gift for a specific dollar amount. For example, you may wish to leave your home or $50,000 to Sahiyo.
Percentage Bequest. Another kind of specific bequest involves leaving a specific percentage of your overall estate to charity. For example, you may wish to leave 25% of your estate to Sahiyo.
Residual Bequest. A residual bequest is made from the balance of an estate after the will or trust has given away each of the specific bequests. A common residual bequest involves leaving a percentage of the residue of the estate to charity. For example, you may wish to leave 30% of the residue of your estate to Sahiyo.
Contingent Bequest. A contingent bequest is made to charity only if the purpose of the primary bequest cannot be met. For example, you could leave specific property, such as a vacation home, to a relative, but the bequest language could provide that if the relative is not alive at the time of your death, the vacation home will go to Sahiyo.
A bequest — charitable or not — can be made for either:
There are numerous benefits to charitable bequests.
A meaningful part of your legacy: A charitable bequest costs you nothing now yet gives you the satisfaction of knowing you have provided for a charity or nonprofit organization’s future. And they can be simple to establish relative to their potentially significant impact.
Flexible and simple setup: To get started, you can simply add a few lines of text to your probated will or living trust. You may also modify your bequest if your circumstances change.
Charitable bequest tax deductions: Charitable bequests could help reduce federal estate taxes because there’s no limit to the value of charitable bequest assets that can be deducted from the total estate’s value. Also, the specific assets that are counted for the charitable deduction don’t have to be cash. You can include other assets like stocks, IRAs and real estate.

Yes! If you are considering a bequest but would like to ensure that your bequest will be used for a specific purpose, please let us know. We would be happy to work with you and your attorney to help you identify ways to give and meet your charitable objectives. We will also work with you and your attorney to craft language to accomplish your goals.
