QUICK EXIT

Date: August 8th – August 9th, 2026

Location: Boston, MA (Exact location TBD)

Sahiyo proposes to implement its Voices to End FGM/C storytelling workshop—adapted to focus on immigrant experiences—within Boston as a healing-centered, community-led program. Launched in 2018, Voices to End FGM/C has engaged 82 survivors and community leaders across the U.S. and globally, and this Boston workshop extends that work locally. The initiative uplifts immigrant voices, nurtures well-being, and advances systems change by documenting lived experiences of those navigating barriers to culturally responsive mental health and social support, isolation, and stigma. By centering these narratives, the program highlights the intersecting identities of survivors, many of whom face multiple layers of marginalization. Stories generated will inform local and statewide awareness and policy while directly supporting participants’ wellness and resilience.
