QUICK EXIT

This 60-minute lunch and learn session will equip CAC staff with essential knowledge about female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C).  FGM/C refers to the partial or total removal of the female-assigned external genitalia or other injuries to the female-assigned genital organs for non-medical reasons and is defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a human rights violation and an extreme form of violence against women and girls.  The session will detail Massachusetts law H4606, passed in 2020, and enhance CAC professionals’ capacity to recognize and respond to potential cases of FGM/C in a culturally sensitive approach when working with children and families from practicing communities. Audience: Primarily for CAC staff- MDT coordinators, victim advocates, forensic interviewers, and center directors.
