This 90-minute professional development session will equip Plymouth school nurses and school-based health services professionals with essential knowledge about female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C), particularly as it relates to student populations. The session will detail the Massachusetts law H4606, passed in 2020, and enhance attendees’ capacity to recognize and respond to potential cases of FGM/C in a culturally sensitive approach when working with students and families from practicing communities. Participants will learn how FGM/C awareness can connect to existing educational frameworks and student support services
