Sahiyo participated as a speaker for a learning session for Freedom Fund. This learning session explored practical, ethical, and inclusive approaches for engaging individuals with lived experience in shaping, informing, and improving programmes, particularly in a way that is adaptable to and relevant in the context of modern slavery and exploitation. This session deepened understanding of how organisations can shift power, design feedback mechanisms, and embed survivor voice meaningfully—beyond tokenism—into decision-making and programme learning processes. Sahiyo was invited to speak on how the Freedom Fund can better engage survivor inclusion into their programs and uplift best practices found in Sahiyo’s How to Engage Survivors and Communities Impacted by Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting: A Toolkit for Creating Engagement.
