In 2025, Sahiyo celebrates a milestone, our 10-year anniversary! The past 10 years have been incredible in terms of empowering voices, fostering change, and supporting survivors. The theme for our celebration; “10 Years of Changemaking–Together for a Future Without FGC,” reflects the far-reaching progress we’ve made and the collective effort that has occurred to drive our mission forward. Achieving this milestone was made possible by the support from our amazing community members, and we hope to continue to empower folks to speak up about FGC for the next 10 years.
But your support is vital in sustaining this momentum. With your generosity, we can continue amplifying stories, building community, and creating programs that uplift those affected by female genital cutting (FGC). From now until December 2025 (Sahiyo’s birthday month!), we’ll be hosting a fundraiser with the goal of raising $10,000 to support our work to end FGC and support survivors. There are multiple ways you can help us to reach this goal:

Top 10 Peer-to-Peer Fundraisers or Teams
Mobilize community-driven fundraising through peer-to-peer campaigns:

- The top 10 fundraisers or teams will be featured on Sahiyo’s website and social media, highlighting their contributions to the campaign.
- The Top 10 fundraisers or teams will receive a Sahiyo 10th Anniversary hand-made mug created by Executive Director Mariya Taher.
