At Sahiyo, transparency and accountability to our community are core to how we operate. We want to share an update regarding recent developments involving Flipcause, our former online fundraising platform, and the steps we took to safeguard our supporters’ contributions.
Late last year, we became aware of legal and financial challenges affecting Flipcause. As news emerged that the company was facing a lawsuit and potential bankruptcy proceedings, our team moved quickly to assess any risks to Sahiyo’s funds and donation infrastructure.
Our top priority was ensuring that all donations entrusted to us remained secure and accessible. We immediately reviewed our accounts, withdrew all available funds from the platform, and confirmed that donations already processed were successfully transferred to Sahiyo’s bank accounts. We also downloaded and secured our donor and campaign data to ensure that our records remained intact.
Because we acted quickly, Sahiyo did not lose funds as a result of Flipcause’s financial situation. All contributions made by our supporters were received and continue to support our programs and community initiatives.
Following this, we began transitioning away from Flipcause to a new fundraising and donation system. While platform transitions can sometimes create temporary disruptions, our goal was to make the process as smooth as possible for our supporters. Our team carefully rebuilt our donation pages, events, and campaigns to ensure continuity and protect the giving experience for our community.
We are grateful for the patience and support of our donors and partners during this transition. Moments like these remind us how important it is to regularly evaluate the tools we use and to respond quickly when challenges arise.
Today, Sahiyo’s fundraising systems are fully operational on our new platform, and we remain committed to stewarding your support responsibly and transparently. If you have questions about the transition or your past donations, please contact Development Director, Michelle Taylor at michelle@sahiyo.org, we are always happy to help.
Thank you for continuing to stand with Sahiyo as we work toward safer, more equitable communities for all.
